Voice AI & Emergency Detection

Last updated: March 10, 2026

Voice AI answers phone calls with natural conversation, but its most critical feature is emergency detection. The system monitors every call for life-threatening keywords and escalates immediately when danger is detected.

1

Voice Call Flow

When a patient calls, the AI greets them with your clinic's name and asks how it can help. It processes speech in real-time, understands the intent, and responds naturally. Common flows include appointment booking, clinic hours inquiry, and doctor availability.

Calls are transcribed in real-time and stored as text logs for review
2

Emergency Detection (80+ Keywords)

The AI continuously monitors speech for emergency keywords in both Hindi and English. When detected, the system immediately interrupts the normal flow and switches to emergency mode.

Chest pain / Seene mein dard
Not breathing / Saans nahi aa rahi
Unconscious / Behosh
Heavy bleeding / Bahut khoon
Heart attack / Dil ka daura
Accident / Hadsa
Seizure / Mirgi ka daura
Poisoning / Zeher

Escalation Rules

When an emergency is detected, the system follows this escalation chain:

  1. 1. Immediately acknowledges the emergency to the caller
  2. 2. Attempts to connect to the primary doctor's phone
  3. 3. If unavailable within 30 seconds, calls the emergency contact
  4. 4. Sends an urgent push notification and WhatsApp alert to all clinic admins
  5. 5. Logs the emergency with full transcript for documentation
Configure escalation contacts in Settings → Voice AI → Emergency

Language Support

Voice AI supports full conversations in Hindi, English, and Hinglish (code-mixed). The AI detects the caller's language automatically and responds in kind. Emergency keywords are monitored in all three languages simultaneously.

Callers can switch languages mid-conversation — the AI adapts seamlessly

Critical

Voice AI is an assistant, not a replacement for emergency services. Always ensure patients know to call 108/112 for life-threatening emergencies. The system provides this guidance automatically during emergency calls.

Tips

  • Add custom emergency keywords specific to your specialization
  • Test the emergency escalation flow monthly to ensure contacts are reachable
  • Review emergency call logs to improve response protocols
