WhatsApp Business Setup

WhatsApp integration lets your clinic's AI assistant handle patient queries, book appointments, send prescription updates, and manage follow-ups — all automatically via WhatsApp. Here's how to set it up.

Prerequisites

A Meta Business Account (create one at business.facebook.com if you don't have one)
A verified business — Meta requires business verification for WhatsApp API access
A dedicated phone number that is not already registered with WhatsApp
Admin access to your Healthcare with AI dashboard

Open WhatsApp Settings

Go to Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp in your dashboard. Click the "Connect WhatsApp" button to start the embedded signup flow.

The embedded signup opens a Meta popup — make sure popups are allowed in your browser

Complete Meta Embedded Signup

Log in to your Meta Business Account in the popup. Select your business, create or choose a WhatsApp Business Account, and register your phone number. Meta will send an OTP to verify the number.

Use a number that can receive SMS — you'll need the OTP to complete verification

Test Your WhatsApp AI

Once connected, send a test message to your WhatsApp number from any phone. The AI should respond within seconds with a greeting and available actions.

Try asking "Book an appointment" to test the full booking flow

Common Issues

Popup blocked: Allow popups for your dashboard URL in browser settings
Number already registered: Delete WhatsApp from that number first, then retry
Business not verified: Complete Meta Business Verification before connecting
OTP not received: Check if the number can receive SMS; try voice call option

Important

Do not use your personal WhatsApp number. Once a number is registered with the WhatsApp Business API, it can no longer be used with the regular WhatsApp app.

Tips

  • Get a dedicated SIM card for your clinic's WhatsApp number
  • Complete Meta Business Verification early — it can take 2-5 business days
  • Set up your clinic profile before connecting WhatsApp so the AI has context
