WhatsApp AI Chatbot

Last updated: March 10, 2026

The WhatsApp AI chatbot is your clinic's 24/7 virtual receptionist. It handles patient messages, books appointments, answers common queries, and delivers prescriptions — all automatically through WhatsApp.

1

How the Chatbot Works

When a patient sends a message to your clinic's WhatsApp number, the AI analyzes the intent and responds appropriately. It understands natural language in Hindi, English, and Hinglish — patients don't need to use specific commands.

Response time is under 3 seconds for most queries
2

What It Can Handle

Appointment Booking

Checks availability, confirms slot, sends reminder

Patient Queries

Clinic hours, fees, doctor availability, directions

Prescription Delivery

Sends Rx PDFs, lab reports, and invoices

Follow-up Reminders

Automated reminders for follow-ups and medication

3

Conversation Flows

The chatbot uses intelligent conversation flows. For example, a booking flow goes: Greeting → Ask symptoms/purpose → Suggest doctor → Show available slots → Confirm booking → Send confirmation. If the patient goes off-topic, the AI gently redirects them.

If the AI cannot handle a query, it offers to connect the patient with a human staff member
4

Training the AI with Your Data

Go to Settings → AI → Knowledge Base to add custom Q&A pairs. For example, add answers about parking availability, insurance acceptance, or specialized procedures. The AI uses this data to answer patient questions accurately.

Add frequently asked questions to improve response accuracy and reduce fallback to humans

Important

The AI chatbot does not provide medical advice or diagnoses. It is designed for administrative tasks only. Medical queries are flagged for human review.

Tips

  • Review the "Unanswered Queries" report weekly and add those to your knowledge base
  • Set business hours so the AI knows when to suggest "call back later"
  • Use the chatbot analytics to identify the most common patient questions
