Queue & Token Management

Last updated: March 10, 2026

The queue system manages walk-in patients with automatic token numbering. Patients see their position in real-time, and doctors can call the next patient with one click.

1

Starting the Queue

Click "Start Queue" at the beginning of each session. This resets the token counter and opens the queue for new patients. Each doctor can have their own independent queue.

Patients with appointments are automatically added to the queue at their scheduled time
2

Calling the Next Patient

Click "Call Next" to summon the next patient in line. Their token number is displayed on the waiting room screen (if configured) and they receive a WhatsApp notification.

The patient's record opens automatically when they are called
3

Skip & Re-queue

If a patient is not present when called, click "Skip." They move to the end of the queue and the next patient is called. Skipped patients can be manually re-queued at any position.

A patient can be skipped up to 3 times before being marked as "No Show"
4

Completing a Consultation

After finishing with a patient, click "Complete." This logs the consultation time, moves the patient out of the queue, and automatically calls the next patient if auto-advance is enabled.

Completed consultations are linked to prescriptions and billing entries

Important

Remember to end the queue at the close of each session. An active queue left open will show incorrect wait times to patients checking via WhatsApp.

Tips

  • Enable "Auto-advance" to call the next patient automatically after completing one
  • Use priority tokens for emergency walk-ins who need to be seen immediately
  • The estimated wait time improves over time as the system learns your pace
